An Ode to College Football

As mentioned before in a previous blog post, I’ve recently started working for a certain large University in the State of Florida historically known for their partying and college football teams. Luckily for me, I’ve love the job 100% so far and they’ve even sent me to help other colleges get on the same page as us. Most recently I was able to travel to the University of Texas at Austin and explore Darrell K. Royal Stadium and snap as many photos as I like.

Never in a million years would I ever imagine having the chance of snapping shots at some of the largest and most historic college football stadiums. I’ve been to many college football games in my lifetime, at more than six different stadiums, but I’ve never had the opportunity to take a DSLR with as many lens as I like and freely take photos of the stadiums.

Before I found skateboarding, my original love was college football. Growing up with a mother who attended, worked at, and is a diehard fan of the University of Miami Hurricanes, college football was on TV in my house as much as possible. For me however, I’ve always been a huge Florida State Seminoles fan, the arch rivals of The Miami Hurricanes. My first clear memory of watching TV was the 1998 National Championship game between the Florida State Seminoles and the Tennessee Volunteers. Florida State unfortunately lost the game in a hard fought manner, but I knew from that point on College Football was going to play a huge role in my life to come. I’ve been following the Seminoles religiously throughout my life, and luckily for me, I’ve been alive for all three of their National Championships, while being old enough to clearly remember two of them, including Bobby Bowden’s second Natty and Jimbo Fisher’s first. I’ve seen some of the greatest football players of all time either play for the Seminoles or as opposing players, and it’s nice to finally photograph the famous stadiums they once reigned supreme in.

This website was originally supposed to be about 50% Skateboarding, 25% landscape photography, and the rest a nice mixture of things. Recently, most of my newest posts on this website have been College Football Stadium shots and other general shots of the University. Below is two links to my most recent folder updates, including shots of both Bobby Bowden Field at Doak S. Campbell Stadium and Darrell K. Royal - Texas Memorial Stadium. Hopefully these become reoccurring posts with new Universities added. Hopefully one day I’m able to actually take photos while the teams are playing. Until that day comes, these photos will do. Enjoy! and Go Noles!! >>—->
