Dwindle imploding! Enjoi Skateboards’ team quits! Louie Barletta, Samarria Brevard, Andrea Benitez, Gus Bus, & many others leave as Dwindle falls hard!

In what seems to be a 2023 for Dwindle Distribution, most of Enjoi Skateboards’ team officially quit via Instagram on Valentine’s Day. Louie Barletta, modern day ambassador for Enjoi and team rider since it’s birth, posted a heartfelt message to all his fellow team riders throughout the years and cited his love for Enjoi, but wasn’t stoked on Dwindle’s recent purchase by an investment firm. After many firings of life long Dwindle employees by the new big wigs, Louie Barletta and many others have abandoned ship on the panda.

This comes after Bill Weiss was fired from his position at Madness skateboards in January 2023, where the entire team followed Weiss, leaving Madness decimated and with zero team riders, basically folding the brand overnight. Weiss was an employee of Dwindle for over 20 years, including his time as a rider & team manger for Blind, as well as his recent release as the Team Manager of Madness Skateboards.

Enjoi Skateboards was started by Rodney Mullen & Marc Johnson in 2000. The first two AMs added on the roster were Jerry Hsu & Louie Barletta shortly after. After 23 years, Enjoi seems to be on the verge of folding. After Barletta announced his departure from Enjoi, Samarria Brevard, Nestor Judkins, Gus Bus, & Andrea Benitez followed suit. No more than a couple of months ago, Didrik Galasso, Jackson Pilz, Zack Wallin, and Thaynon Costa announced their leaving Enjoi. No word on Caswell Berry or Clark Hassler, but one can speculate what will happen to them.

Also on Valentine’s Day, John Di Lorenzo announces via Instagram that he’s leaving Almost skateboards, another one of the brand’s under Dwindle’s umbrella.

There’s been no news on what will happen to Monarch Project or Darkstar, but based on whats unfolding now, we can imagine it won’t end well.

Enjoi has always been a favorite of mine and I would put them as my third favorite brand of all time. Enjoi was one of those skateboarding brands that transcended skateboarding, and reached an audience of people who didn’t skateboard. In their 23 years, Enjoi has released two full length videos and a boat load of internet video. Enjoi was also featured on Thrasher Magazine’s King of the Road 2017 on Viceland, winning the contest against Deathwish and Creature. Enjoi has also produced some of the funniest ads in skateboarding history, with usually little to no skateboarding involved. Alongside some of the wittiest and goofy graphics in skateboarding, Enjoi was always regarded as a company with some of the edgiest humor. Some of Enjoi’s past riders include Marc Johnson, Rodney Mullen, Jerry Hsu, Chris Cole, Bobby Puleo, Brad Staba, Jason Adams, Ben Raemers, Jose Rojo, & Cairo Foster.

If this is the end of Enjoi, RIP. I hope somehow Louie or whomever can pull the copyright from the new investment firm. Below are some of Enjoi’s best ads and videos. CHEERS!
