First Thrasher Cover of 2023! Funa Nakayama with a heavy FS Crooked Grind down Hollywood Hills High 16 for January 2023’s Cover!

Funa Nakayama claims the first Thrasher Magazine cover of 2023 with a massive Frontside Crooked Grind down Hollywood Hills High School’s 16 stair handrail. Announced on November 5th via Thrasher Magazine’s Instagram account, Funa will be the first women since Breana Geering in October 2021 to grace the cover of Thrasher Magazine. Cover was shot by Matt Fookes, and is a clean shot without anything other than the Thrasher Magazine logo. This trick was featured in Element’s ‘ESP VOL2’ video which is embedded below.

November has been a huge month for Japanese skateboarding. With Funa’s cover, Daiki Ikeda winning Tampa Am, and having seven of the top 15 from Tampa Am also being from Japan, Japan has been killing it lately!
