Terry Kennedy arrested; facing murder charges & a life sentence

Former Baker Professional Skateboarder Terry Kennedy has been arrested and charged with murder after assaulting 23 year old Josiah Kassahun in an Illinois motel room. Kennedy, 36, was arrested days prior with charges of Threatening Police Officers and Assault. Days after Kennedy’s initial arrest, Kassahun died due to injuries resulting from the assault.

TK’s decline was harsh, and as a once time huge fan, it’s sad to see. I first found out about TK because of his cameo as ‘Compton Ass Terry’ on MTV’s Viva La Bam. Shortly after, I remember reading in Transworld about his switch from Element to Baker due to Element getting mad at TK for not wearing enough of their product. Not long after that, I saw Baker 3 for the first time, and was stoked on TK’s part.

After Baker 3 was released, The Ice Cream Video and his appearance on EA’s Skate video game, boosting his fame and wealth even more. Beginning in the early 2010s, Kennedy began acting crazy on social media. Doing things such as quitting Baker via Instagram, calling out Andrew Reynolds, and public ‘gang related’ freak outs. He spent the second half of the 2010s jumping sponsors after being dropped by a majority of his brands.
